Doniphan Released Mugshot Records
A mugshot is a photograph made during booking or corrections processing. The Doniphan County Sheriff's Office publishes an image with each entry on its current-inmate page. That image belongs to the booking record, but the web page is a current-custody product. The official site map did not reveal a post-release photo archive, retention period, or separate recent-releases collection.
The image must be read with care. Arrest is not conviction. Charges may be dismissed, amended, resolved by plea, tried, or otherwise concluded. A bond amount shown beside a photo is not proof that bond was posted. Once someone drops off the roster, the missing entry also does not disclose whether the person went home, transferred to KDOC, moved to another jail, or remained held by another authority.
Kansas law does not support a blanket promise that every Doniphan booking photo must be copied on demand. A requester may ask for the existing record under the Kansas Open Records Act, but the custodian decides disclosure, redaction, and any lawful exemption. Doniphan Photos Are Current-Only
The Doniphan County current-inmate roster shows a portrait with the displayed name, booking number, charge, bond, arresting agency, booking date and time, age, sex, and race. Those fields help match a photo to the right custody episode. The page does not show a release date, release reason, court disposition, destination, or explicit released status.

After the entry disappears, preserve any known booking number and case clues. They make a later photo request much more precise.
The sheriff's separate inmate sitemap mirrored the same current population during research. It did not preserve a second set of released entries. This makes the publication stance clear but not the reason for removal. A vanished post is evidence that it is no longer published as current. It is not evidence of a community release or an exact release time.

The synchronized current list supports a focused sheriff request, not the creation of a county mugshot archive that does not exist.
Request Doniphan Booking Photos
Send a narrow Kansas Open Records Act request to the Doniphan County Sheriff's Office, 219 South Main Street, Troy, KS 66087. The office can be reached at 785-985-3711, by fax at 785-985-2573, or at sheriff@doniphanso.org. The sheriff publishes no dedicated photo-request form, flat photo fee, or release-record production schedule. Ask the office to confirm the proper records custodian.
- Identify the person by full name, aliases, and date of birth if known.
- Give the booking number, arresting agency, case number, and a narrow booking date range when available.
- Ask for the existing booking sheet and booking photograph, not an explanation the agency would have to create.
- Request electronic delivery and a fee estimate before work begins.
- If material is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and any segregable open portion.
K.S.A. 45-218 requires an agency that cannot grant access at once to give a detailed explanation of delay within three business days. That is an initial response rule, not a guarantee of completed production. Fees may cover actual staff and copy costs, and advance payment may be required.
Pictures receive special treatment. K.S.A. 45-219 states that an agency is not required to provide copies of pictures or similar visual items unless they were shown at a public meeting, subject to current law and other applicable rules. A photo request is valid, but production cannot be promised. Ask whether inspection or a discretionary copy is available.
KASPER Doniphan Release Photos
KASPER can provide a corrections photograph for a person covered by the Kansas Department of Corrections. It includes sentenced people since 1980 who are incarcerated, on post-incarceration supervision, or discharged, subject to stated exclusions and removal rules. Search by name or KDOC number, then refine by conviction county or parole-supervision county when useful.
The state search offers photo controls and may also show physical details, conviction case information, current status, housing, movements, supervision, and an anticipated release date. Selecting Doniphan as conviction county does not prove the person returned to Doniphan County. A discharged state record may remain visible long after the county roster image disappears.

Doniphan Mugshots After Expungement
Kansas uses separate laws for conviction and arrest expungement. K.S.A. 21-6614 keys many conviction waiting periods to satisfaction of the sentence or discharge from probation, community corrections, parole, postrelease supervision, conditional release, or a suspended sentence. The clock does not simply begin on the photo or booking date. Offense-based periods and exclusions apply, and elapsed time alone does not produce an order.
K.S.A. 22-2410 separately governs arrest-record expungement and includes procedures involving mistaken identity. An official order can change public access and the legal treatment of the event. It does not justify trying to reconstruct restricted material from an old mirror. A missing image should be respected.
No Kansas anti-pay-to-remove law specifically aimed at commercial mugshot publishers was verified in the research. Do not assume one exists. A person seeking a change to an official record should use the Doniphan District Court case and current Kansas forms or legal help. A request to an unofficial publisher does not alter the originating court or sheriff record.
Conviction and arrest expungement are also not interchangeable. A conviction case can involve an offense-based waiting period tied to sentence satisfaction or discharge. An arrest petition has its own statutory grounds and procedure. The current court form, filing rules, and fee should be checked before filing because costs and forms can change. Once access is lawfully restricted, an old photo mirror should not be used to defeat that result.
Verify Doniphan Mugshot Context
A photo answers only one narrow question: which image an agency associated with a booking or corrections record. It does not answer whether the person is still held or how the case ended.
